2. Information We Collect
We collect only the minimum information necessary to provide our services:

3. Information We Don't Collect
We are committed to minimal data collection. The following data is never collected or uploaded to our servers:
Your CV Stays Local
Your CV/resume is stored exclusively in your browser's local IndexedDB storage. It is never uploaded to our servers or any third party. You have complete control over this data, and it remains on your device at all times.
4. How We Use Your Data
We use the collected information solely to provide and improve our services:
- Job Organization: Store and display your saved job listings
- Cloud Sync: Synchronize your job data across devices (if you opt in)
- AI Analysis: Analyze job descriptions to extract key requirements, skills, and provide insights
- Service Improvement: Understand usage patterns to improve the extension
- Communication: Send important updates about your account or our services
AI Analysis
When you use our AI analysis feature, job descriptions are sent to our backend servers where they are processed using AI models. We do not use your data to train AI models. The analysis results are returned to you and stored according to your sync preferences.
Anonymized Skill Data Collection
When job descriptions are analyzed, we collect anonymized skill data to build and improve our skill dictionary. This helps us provide better skill matching and career insights for all users.
- What we collect: Only the skill names and categories extracted from job descriptions
- What we don't collect: No personal information, company names, job titles, or any identifying data
- How it's used: Aggregated statistics to identify in-demand skills and improve our analysis accuracy
- Your benefit: More accurate skill matching and better career insights for the job market
5. Data Storage & Security
Local Storage
By default, all your data is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable cloud sync.
Cloud Storage (Optional)
If you enable cloud sync, your job data is stored on secure servers with the following protections:
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3
- Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256 encryption
- Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with appropriate cost factors
- Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
- Access controls and authentication for all server access
7. Your Rights
You have full control over your data. As a user, you have the right to:
- Access: View all data we have stored about you
- Export: Download your data in a portable format (JSON)
- Delete: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Correct: Update or correct your personal information
- Withdraw Consent: Disable cloud sync at any time and return to local-only storage
- Object: Object to processing of your data for specific purposes

8. Data Retention
We retain your data according to the following guidelines:
- Local Data: Stored indefinitely until you clear your browser data or uninstall the extension
- Cloud Data: Retained while your account is active. After account deletion, data is permanently removed within 30 days
- Inactive Accounts: Accounts with no activity for 24 months may be deleted after notification
- Backup Data: May persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days after deletion
- Temporary CV Analysis: If you use our CV Checker without an account and provide your email for results delivery, your CV content and analysis results are stored temporarily for 7 days only. After 7 days, this data is automatically and permanently deleted. To keep your analysis results permanently, please create a free account.
9. Third-Party Websites
Our extension interacts with third-party recruitment websites including:
- Seek (seek.com.au)
- Indeed (indeed.com.au)
- LinkedIn (linkedin.com)
We only extract publicly visible job listing information from these websites. We do not access your accounts on these platforms or collect any login credentials. Please review the privacy policies of these websites for information on how they handle your data.
10. Children's Privacy
FindMyJob is designed for adult job seekers, particularly Australian graduates entering the workforce. Our services are not intended for children under 16 years of age.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately at info@auguide.com.au, and we will take steps to delete such information.
11. Policy Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons.
When we make significant changes:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date at the bottom of this page
- We will notify you via email (if you have an account) or through the extension
- For material changes, we may require you to re-acknowledge the policy
